why it works
Oil cleansers are key to removing excess sebum and makeup more efficiently than water-based cleansers. Fermented papaya and pineapple enzymes gently exfoliate and remove old skin cells, helping to resurface and smooth the skin. Hibiscus extract contains alpha-hydroxy acids (specifically malic acid) and further exfoliates, unclogs pores, and treats oily skin.
Whole-plant extracts of mugwort, marshmallow, yarrow, Chinese skullcap, and plantain have a synergistic phytonutrient composition that helps to soothe irritated and acne-prone skin.
What's inside
Papaya (Carica papaya)
Papaya is rich in the enzyme papain that helps to gently break down and remove dead skin cells which can clog pores. Papaya's exfoliating action helps to reveal smooth and resurfaced skin.
Pineapple (Ananas sativus)
Pineapple contains bromelain that helps to reduce inflammation and break down dead skin cells. Pineapple enzymes help to resurface the skin and improve its texture over time.
Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)
Hibiscus contains a phytochemical called myricetin which is partly responsible for preserving elastin in the skin. It's also a source of alpha hydroxy acids, which exfoliate the skin and help to break down the protein bonds between skin cells, allowing the process of desquamation to happen at a normal rate.
