why tinctures?

Herbal tinctures are concentrated liquid extracts made from medicinal plants. Unlike capsules, tinctures are intended to be tasted and experienced. Specific ratios of alcohol and water are used to extract phytochemicals from medicinal plants. This allows for quick absorption and a long, stable shelf life, making them effective, fast-acting, and easy to use.

Our tinctures are either a ratio of 1:3 and 1:4 (containing 1 gram of herb per 3ml or 4ml of tincture). These are potent concentrations. They are effective and intended to impact health and well-being.

People have used herbal medicine for over 5000 years through traditional systems such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, European herbalism, and Ayurveda. As a result, the use of herbs to support wellbeing is increasingly affirmed by modern research that shows herbs can be effective tools to bring us closer to vibrant health.

formulation

We approach formulation using principles found in Western Herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda.

We look at each plant through the lens of its traditional use, empirical observation, and current scientific research. Our blends are made from whole plants rather than single herb extracts to offer maximum benefit and balance in every bottle.

whole plant extracts

We use whole plant rather than standardized extracts to harness the whole plant’s benefits. While standarization allows scientists to isolate one active compound, this can remove or overlook complementary phytochemicals that contribute to the activity of the whole herb. Herbs contain hundreds of complex phytochemicals that contribute to their actions and offer the unique ability to exert whole-body effects and address numerous problems simultaneously.
