It has been shown to boost cerebral circulation through several mechanisms of action, one of which could be through enhancing nitric oxide (acts as a vasodilator). The herb contains the amino acid arginine which is instrumental in synthesizing create nitric oxide. Oat Straw also contains a group of phytochemicals called avenanthramides, which have also been shown to enhance nitric oxide production.
